Luke’s sister Beckie, started candle making, so we offered orange and blue candles for Mothers Day, all profits to LukesWrld and raised £63.
Luke was very close to his Granny, who died in July 2016, just 3 years before Luke.
She owned a lot of art, selling 3 local pictures for donations raised £65.
Luke lived all his life in Welby Crescent, Winnersh. When we had our Platinum Jubilee street party we ran a tombola and raffle and also had a donation bucket, for 2 nominated charities, LukesWrld and DASH (Domestic Abuse Stops Here).
Thanks to the generosity of our lovely neighbours we raised £265 for each charity.
We also received a couple of separate donations for LukesWrld from neighbours, £40.
On the 3rd anniversary of Luke’s accident, 2 July 2022, we held the first Luke Freeman Memorial football tournament and, after expenses, raised £230 for the charity.
This will now be an annual event, with the 2nd tournament to be held on 1 July 2023 currently in the planning stage.
For Luke’s 23 birthday on 22 December we launched an annual ‘Raise a rum for Luke' day.
Personalised rum glasses were sold for £5 and after costs raised £30
In December Menna took part in a Santa Dash, 5k around Dinton Pastures and raised £250.
Thanks to a friend securing us a signed QPR shirt, we received a £50 donation from another friend, a QPR fan!
